Webersberg wows guests at Mathilda & Johan’s wedding ~ 18.6.11

Coming from an ‘event’s’  background,  Mathilda’s wedding was one we were really looking forward to filming!    Although it’s been  chilly and wet here in the Cape recently, the day dawned with clear blue skies and very passable temperatures!

It always works so well when the bride and her retinue are dressing at the same location as the ceremony & reception, as there’s less worry about timing…   As well as the stunning Manor House, Webersberg also has a cute row of guest cottages, so there’s room for lots of family and friends to also make their preparations for the day!  Mom, Miemsie, was busy ironing the creases from a shirt, whilst Mathilda and her girls moved from room to room having hair and make- up done before slipping into their wedding outfits.  The bridesmaids wore crips white shirts and patterned skirts or a patterned dress, all completed with cowboy boots!  So different and such fun!  Mathilda’s Didi Coutoure dress fitted her exquisitely and was finished with a jewelled brooch at the waist.  So, so lovely.

Karla Oettler and Lize-Mari  of Absolute Weddings had coordinated the day for Mathilda and Johan and what a day it was!  Even though the sun was shining down as Mathilda crossed the lawn to meet Johan at the altar, the ceremony was to take place indoors, in the old wine cellar.    Candles flickered on every available surface as Mathilda & Johan repeated their vows and became man & wife.    Hats off to Karla and Lize-Mari for lighting all those candles!  A real fairytale!

It was the first time I had worked with  talented photographer, Jani of Jani B Photography and we really enjoyed our day together capturing some amazing shots for Mathilda & Johan.  Hope to work with Jani again soon!

During pre-drinks, guests were entertained with a riveting magical performance by magician Larry.  Mind blowing – literally!   Beautiful bride Mathilda was having such fun and the evening didn’t disappoint – great speeches, great food and music with great friends to enjoy it all with!   This couple were a delight to work with, happy to march through the fields (bride in floral wellies bought especially for the occasion…) ~ it was all there!   Lots of best wishes for the future that lies ahead xxx

Bronwyn & Kaan’s Vrede en Lust wedding – 8.1.11

Vrede en Lust is located just outside Franschhoek.  It nestles in the valley with mountain views that are simply breathtaking!    This is the venue that Bronwyn  & Kaan chose for their summer wedding.   I met the delightful family for the first time at the Manor House on the estate, where Bronwyn and her retinue were dressing.  With such a beautiful bride, photographer Marele Joubert and I were able to capture some amazing shots and footage as the day progressed.

Guests were seated on the vast lawn, looking towards the wedding gazebo, vineyards and mountains beyond.    An emotional Kaan greeted his lovely bride at the altar, as minister Marietjie Venter led them in their vows.  With a Marimba band playing their vibrant melodies, guests then moved to the poolhouse lawned area for pre drinks.  This amazing couple had planned a veritable feast of delights for their guests later that evening, including a very up-beat African rhythm show (great footage!).

John and I really enjoyed filming their day – watch their highlight clips below..

Zena & Byron wed at Rhebokskloof ~ 20.11.10

Zena and Byron, Rhebokskloof from Vicky Goslin on Vimeo.

Georgeous bride Zena was so excited as she walked down the aisle (God’s aisle – the beautiful gardens at Rhebokskloof Estate in Paarl) to meet her handsome groom, Byron.  Romance was the theme of the day – with long flowing veils and horses looking on as this couple played in front of the cameras.  Working alongside photographer,  Igor, our talented camera operators (Clair and Mark) took some breathtaking shots of the event from start to finish!

Zena and Byron only had eyes for each other, but were happy to occasionally turn them  in the direction of the cameras!  Result – stunning shots!

Zena and Byron are such a lovely, sincere couple and it was our pleasure to have captured their day on film for them.

God Bless XXX

Erinvale wedding for Mieke & Stephen 30.4.11

Coordinator, Cindy Herbst contacted us last year with a request to film Mieke & Stephen’s wedding and we were delighted to oblige!   We had filmed Stephen’s sister Joanne’s wedding a few years ago and it was great to see Joanne and Deon again.

Petite and gorgeous Mieke was relaxed and looking lovely as she dressed at Erinvale Hotel before leaving for The Church of Christ in Somerset West for the ceremony.   I had a great time working with photographer, Bernard Bravenboer throughout the day.  We had been given permission to take photos (and shoot video!) at beautiful Vergelegen Estate and went straight there with the couple from the church.  Working first in forest glades, we then moved onwards and upwards to an incredible location at the top of the estate.  The views were incredible and we were able to capture some really stunning shots of this great looking couple.

Back at Erinvale after the shoot, Cindy had the evening’s activities in hand as MC Joanne welcomed the couple and led us through the night’s events.  One of the highlights had to be the buffet ‘ sweetie ‘ table – which was piled high with sweet treats of every description!  Guests could take a monogrammed bag and fill it to the brim with anything from jelly babies to Lindt chocolates!!  Yummy!!

A big ’thank-you’ back to Mieke and Steve who gave the photographer and I a lovely ‘thank-you’ card just before we left that night.  How lovely was that.  It’s always good to know you are appreciated!

Lots of love to Mieke & Stephen ~ God Bless XX

Jacqui & Neil marry at beautiful Allee Bleue Estate ~ 10.4.11

There must be some of my blog readers who have never visited Cape Town, but just imagine the setting for Jacqui & Neil’s wedding at Allee Bleue, Franschhoek.  The historic Manor House has been recently renovated and it was here that Jacqui and her bridesmaids were dressing.  Guests arrived for the ceremony and waited under the oaks, where the ceremony was to take place.  There was hardly a breath of wind as Jacqui in her beautiful dress and saphire blue shoes joined Neil at the end of the aisle to make their vows.  Afterwards, photographer Monica Dart and I captured some fun shots of the couple with their family and retinue before moving away from the Estate to take some really amazing shots on an old un-used railway bridge and on the riverbank (and in the river too…..) at nearby Riverside Restaurant.  Can’t remember having so much fun on a shoot for ages!  We even found on old garden swing and Jacqui was only too willing to jump on the seat and swing up into the air (wearing her wellies and not the lovely diamanté saphire blue shoes she had worn for the ceremony)!  Loved working with you, Monica!

Back at Allee Bleue, lots of great food, good speeches and dancing followed.

When I had arrived at Allee Bleue at the start of the day, I knew this would be a wedding I would enjoy ~ as Jacqui was just so full of fun and smiles!  To top it all, a bonus for me was when an old friend of mine walked in to the room where Jacqui was dressing – lovely to see you after all these years, Melody!!

All in all, a really lovely day for an equally lovely couple!  XXX
