When Jeannie from Cream Event Library contacted us to film Marlie and Jean’s wedding, we were really thrilled! We knew that not only did we have a stunning bride to film, but that there would be lots of celebrity faces at this prestigious affair.
Marlie was dressing at the Grande Roche in Paarl and when we arrived the talented hair and make-up artist, Fabienne Zadel was just putting the finishing touches to the beautiful bride. Marlie was relaxed and enjoying her day so far – and the best was yet to come!
Ready in plenty of time to allow photographer Sybrand Cillier and I to capture some pre-ceremony shots in the historic setting of Grande Roche in the beautiful town of Paarl, Marlie was just the most obliging bride and very comfortable in front of the cameras! Really gorgeous too of course!
At the Toring Kerk in Paarl, Jean busied himself greeting his guests before everyone moved inside to wait for the bride and her retinue to arrive. The weather forecast had been rain, but on the day it was bright (not sunny), with good cloud formations – a photographers dream!
I’m not going to give the names of the guests – there were just too many well known faces to write about – but once again my Springbok rugby team knowledge was refreshed as I saw many of South Africa’s top players and their lovely wives and girlfriends fill the pews.
The ceremony really was so moving and I have some great footage to edit for this amazing couple!
After a fun photo shoot, we headed to Kronenberg Wine Estate for the evenings festivities. It was obvious from the faces of all the family, friends and guests that the night would be one to remember ~ and so it was!
As we moved from the speeches to the first dance, all eyes were on this handsome couple sitting at the main table who then took to the dance floor to open the nights ‘party’.
Marlie and Jean were a great couple to work with on the day. So friendly and relaxed. Watch out for a highlight clip from their wedding on the Video Gallery page of my site soon!
